Visited on a fellow foodie’s recommendation. Ordered the signature crab bee hoon, octopus and fried pork in fermented bean curd sauce. Crab beehoon was awesome, bee hoon had a good wok hei, and the broth was delicious. Apparently you can top up the bee hoon. 5/5 Octopus was an off-menu dish, but it was so good. Thick and soft, and goes well with the fried onion and chilli. 5/5 Fried pork was decent but nothing too special, had better ones elsewhere. 3/5. Would definitely go back again for the crab bee hoon and octopus in future, and try out other dishes too.

Long Ji Zi Char consistently delivers high-quality, memorable food. I've been coming here for a couple of years now, and while the prices have increased significantly since my first visit, I'm happy to report that the standard has never dropped. They maintain excellent consistency, which is rare. The stars of the show are absolutely their signature dishes. The Claypot Lao Shu Fen (Mouse Tail Noodles) is everything you want it to be—deeply flavorful, served piping hot, and perfectly charred. Their Crispy Sheng Chang (pig's large intestines) is also a must-try; it's cooked perfectly and has that delightful, addictive texture. My only major critique is the indoor environment. If you choose to sit inside, be warned: it gets incredibly noisy. It's genuinely difficult to hold a conversation, which takes away from the overall dining experience. I’m not sure what the cause is, but I really hope the restaurant considers some acoustic improvements to make indoor dining more comfortable. Overall: A great restaurant for top-tier Zichar flavor, but be prepared for the volume!

Lala was mid but the fermented pork slices were pretty good. It was so well marinated and crispy we really loved it. The highlight is definitely their signature crab bee hoon which we ordered one crab at 1.3kg for 2 pax. The beehoon was soaked in the wok hei and it was so delicious. Id reccomend to eat the beehoon first since it gets a tad salty if you let it soak even longer in the broth. The crab was very fresh and easy to peel!! Staff can be slightly rude but we came for the food so that’s alright↔

Crab bee hoon, the signature dish, is not to be missed. Skipped taking photos for the other dishes as we were too hungry… superb zi chat and one which I will visit again.

Had dinner at Long Ji Zhi Char along Outram Road and tried several of their popular dishes. Here's what we ordered and our thoughts: Signature Crab Bee Hoon: Easily the star of the night. The broth was rich and umami-packed, though slightly on the salty side. The crab itself was fresh, with firm, sweet meat. A must-try. Coffee Pork Ribs: Delicious! Tender meat with a nice balance of bitterness and sweetness from the coffee glaze. Well executed and very flavourful. Salted Egg Prawns: One of the better versions we've tasted. Fresh prawns coated in a creamy, savoury salted egg sauce — satisfying without being overly heavy. Butter Chicken: Decent but didn’t particularly stand out. Mild in flavour and lacked the buttery aroma we were hoping for. Salted Egg Corns: A fun, crunchy dish but fairly average. Could use a bit more punch in flavour. Three Egg Vegetable: Standard rendition of this classic dish. Nothing bad, but also nothing memorable. Ambience & Service: The restaurant is air-conditioned indoors, offering a more comfortable dining experience, but there are a few outdoor tables behind the restaurant as well. The place was full house during our visit, and without a reservation, we were given an outdoor seat, which might not be ideal for everyone — so booking ahead is definitely recommended. Service was friendly and prompt despite the crowd, and staff handled the busy evening well. Verdict: Definitely worth a visit for the Crab Bee Hoon and Salted Egg Prawns. The rest of the dishes were okay, but not particularly outstanding. With a comfortable indoor setting and efficient service, Long Ji makes a good spot for satisfying your tze char cravings — just don’t forget to make a reservation if you want to avoid the outdoor seats!

All the fans may not be running and you may have to yell at your fellow diners to be heard, but Long Ji better never change. The crab bee hoon is like no other crab dish in the world but don’t sleep on the cereal corn, hot plate tofu and especially the salted vegetable soup.
